The BEMB Trust, a fully registered Charity first set up in 1971, promotes and sponsors research into egg production, marketing and education.

Research is sponsored under these headings:

BEMB Trust will sponsor a PhD Project submitted by Dr Paul Wigley of Liverpool University - "Use of pathogenomic approaches to characterise emerging layer-associated Avian Pathogenic Escherichia coli"
BEMB Trust awards Pump Priming finance to VLA project - Epidemiology of avian intestinal spirochaetosis in laying and broiler breeder flocks in the UK

BEMB TRUST sponsors new Nuffield Scholar to study 2012 EU battery cage legislation and its effect

 

The Trust is managed by 5-6 Trustees and a Secretary/Administrator. Collectively the Trustees provide expertise in the following areas:

Top level poultry science
Large scale mainstream egg production
Alternative systems of egg production
Egg packing
EC political (egg) policy
