NUFFIELD SCHOLARSHIPS
The Nuffield Farming Scholarships
Trust offers 16-18 travel Scholarships each
year for subjects broadly related to agriculture.
The BEMB Trust funds one
of these Scholarships. The subject of this BEMB-sponsored
Scholarship is restricted to the study of hen/duck
egg production/marketing. The Scholarship is
for a minimum duration of 9 weeks and can be
pursued anywhere in the world. The value of
a Scholarship is between £5,000-7,000
depending on the area visited.
However, although the minimum
duration of a Study Tour involves as little
as three months, the advantages of a Nuffield
Farming Scholarship are lifelong. Most Scholars
actively proclaim the tremendous benefits they
continue to enjoy as a result of joining the
Nuffield network. After completing their Study
Tour, Scholars join the Nuffield Poultry Group
which meets at least twice a year, both in the
UK and overseas, to see and discuss matters
of mutual interest. The Poultry Group may be

the above address. Applicants should be aged
between 25-45 and (to qualify for the BEMB-sponsored
Scholarship) be actively engaged in egg production
or marketing.
